New job

October 7th, 2005

So I’ve started my new job. So far so good. Everyone I’ve met so far seems really lovely, the unit seems great as well. I’m on Labour Ward, which is scary at times, but I think on the whole I’m pleased to start off there, as I may as well get it over and done with, rather than working on the ward and getting myself in a real tizzy about transfering to Labour Ward. I’m doing three long days a week – and at the moment I’m really not used to it, so I’m absolutely knackered after a long day – my feet and legs hurt soooo much. But, I’ve been there before, and I know it gets better.

At the moment I’m still waiting for my registration – should come through by next week, so I’m working as a Health Care Assistant at the moment. It’s good in that it helps me find my way around, know how things are done etc etc; but I do feel useless and a bit like a spare part right now.

I’m just really relieved that I’m enjoying it, and looking forward to actually getting a pay packet at the end of the month, even if it will all go towards paying off my student loans!
