iPod
I’ve just bought an iPod and I love it!!!
I was going to get a Creative Zen, as I think you get more ‘bang for your buck’ (and because they’re purple) but I really wanted to use iTunes, so it had to be an iPod. My reasoning being that if I’m going to use an mp3 player, then it has to be really, REALLY easy to update, otherwise I know I just won’t bother. So I tried iTues and it is really easy to use. Easy to add CDs, easy to get all the podcasts I want. So I bought a white 4Gb iPod Nano. Since then, I’ve spent almost as much again on accessories – nice headphones that I can use at home because I don’t like those ‘in ear’ ones, adapters so I can charge it in the car and listen through the car cassette player, and I’ve got my eye on a dock thing and a strap thing so I can use it at the gym.
Which leads me to…..
DH and I have decided to join a gym. I know. Don’t laugh. I’ve been there many times before and it’s never worked. But now we’ve both decided to go, so we’re hoping that we’ll manage to motivate each other. Because I really need to lose weight. For many reasons. That’s why I decided I needed an iPod – so that going to the gym wouldn’t be too torturous. I can plod along on the cross-trainer and listen to podcasts of Women’s Hour. Last time I went I tried listening to the radio, but the reception was rubbish. Anyway, the gym we’ve decided to join has a little spa bit as well as the usual torture areas, so even if I give up exercising after a couple of weeks, I can always just go and sit in the steam room.

Trust me, listening to music while exercising is the key! I had started running at treadmill in the begining of this year and found it a lot easier if I had music going. Now, I want to get back to it and will definitely have to take my MP3 player along.
Good Luck with your new adventure!

I’m sure you will love your ipod – I’ve had a few other players and my ipod is definately the best of them. I followed the battery tips in the manual about battery conditioning and my battery’s still going strong after 18 months.

Ohhh… I’m sure you’ll love it. I bought a black one so I could listen to audiobooks while working out. Amazing how if I’m really into the book the hour will just fly by. And sometimes there’s the “Oh, I’m almost through this chapter, just a little more”. If you really want it to be purple, you can always get a purple case. I’ve got one from ifrogz (www.ifrogz.com) in purple and black and I love it! It puts up with a lot of abuse, and has survived a couple of falls from the treadmill so far!
Enjoy!
