About
Veggie Baby is a blog that I started to track my progress on weaning my daughter onto a vegetarian diet. I hope you’ll join us through the triumphs and the well, not so triumphant moments that we’ll experience. Try some of the recipes for yourself, or feed them to your children. And if you have a recipe that you think the Veggie Baby would like, please send it to us, and we’ll have a go.
The Veggie Baby will be 6 months old on the 2nd November 2007, and we’ll be starting our exciting journey on the 3rd November (because it’s a Saturday, and Veggie Daddy will be home to watch). Provided the Veggie Baby is interested in food at that time. I won’t be forcing her to eat solids just for this blog! But even before that time, you can expect a few posts as we start to get things ready.
Here at the Veggie Baby’s house we try to live a reasonable ethical and eco-friendly lifestlye. Don’t get me wrong, we’re not tree-hugging, commune living hippies (although the Veggie Daddy does look like one), we just try to make a little extra effort with the easy things. So, we have a compost bin in the back garden rather than throwing food in the bin; we recycle as much as we possibly can; we have energy saver light bulbs everywhere – the little things. In line with this, we’ll be buying organic food wherever possible, and also trying to buy produce in season, and local.
Whatever your reasons for joining us on our journey – whether it’s for the recipes, because you’re already veggie, or thinking of becoming veggie, because you’re weaning your own baby, or just to see the cute photos of a baby with food all over her face – I hope you enjoy your visit here, and I hope you’ll add some comments to let us know what you think.
